Account & Security
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Learn how EasyMerkato protects your account and which security controls you can manage in the app.
1. Protecting your EasyMerkato account
This page explains how account security works in EasyMerkato and what you can control in the mobile app.
2. Sign-in options
- Email and password: passwords are stored hashed. Use a strong unique password.
- Google Sign-In: you can authenticate with your Google account. Keep your Google account secure.
- Email verification: new email accounts should verify their address before full access.
3. App lock and biometrics
In the EasyMerkato app, open Profile → Security to enable optional App Lock. When enabled, the app can require device unlock (PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or face, depending on your device) after you leave the app. This protects access on a shared or lost phone; it does not replace your EasyMerkato or Google password.
4. Sessions and devices
- You can sign out from Profile to end the current session.
- Do not share account credentials with people who should not access your business data.
- Team owners who invite members should only add trusted staff.
5. Notifications and devices
Push notifications use a device token so we can alert you about orders and payments. Uninstalling the app or revoking notification permission stops new pushes to that device.
6. If you suspect unauthorized access
- Change your password or secure your Google account immediately.
- Sign out of EasyMerkato on devices you no longer control.
- Contact easymerkato@gmail.com with the email on your account and a short description of the issue.
